COEYMANS – A mobile home in Flemings Trailer Park was severely damaged by fire Sunday afternoon, Coeymans Police Chief PJ McKenna said.
Firefighters were called to the mobile home in the Route 9W park shortly before 3 p.m. for a fully-involved blaze in the trailer’s back bedroom. The man who lived in trailer called in the fire and was uninjured. He had no pets.
McKenna said no other structures around the mobile home were affected.
“There was nothing beyond the normal circumstances with this fire,” McKenna said. “But because of the kind of structure it is, it’s totaled out. There is only one small area in the front of the home that was unaffected.”
The homeowner, McKenna said, has family in the area who will take him in.
The Albany County Fire Investigation Unit team is sifting through the remains to pin down the cause of the fire.
