P-Plater fined for filming driver on wrong side of road – 9news.com.au

A Sydney P-Plater has been fined more than $300 and issued 10 demerit points after filming an elderly man driving on the wrong side of the road.

About 10.25pm yesterday, a vehicle was filmed traveling west on the eastbound lanes of the M5 Motorway between Moorebank Avenue and Henry Lawson Drive.

The video showed trucks and other vehicles rushing past the 68-year-old man’s car as he continued traveling in the wrong direction.

The P-Plate driver filming the incident has been fined $337 and issued 10 demerit points for using a mobile phone while driving.

The elderly man was stopped by police a short time later, on Moorebank Avenue, and spoken to about his dangerous actions.

Officers have lodged a fitness to drive application, however no further action is expected to be taken against the 68-year-old.
