Social messaging platform WhatsApp is planning to bring out a host of new features for their iOS beta users. The features include QR code to password backups and messenger rooms.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started rolling out QR code support for beta testers on the iOS platform. The feature was announced last year but the Facebook-owned app is making it available now. The latest update for WhatsApp Beta for iOS has started rolling out and users can download the latest version 2.20.60.27 from TestFlight.

WABetaInfo says, “Finally the day has come for one of the most anticipated features: the support for QR Codes in WhatsApp! This was a feature previously announced more than 1 year ago, and today we have good news for you.

WhatsApp is officially rolling out, for all iOS beta testers the support for QR Codes!

If you’re an official iOS beta tester on TestFlight, it is very likely that you have already access to the feature, but we can verify together. Once installing the 2.20.60.27 iOS update from TestFlight (that brings a new feature under development that allows enabling the encryption for your chat history hosted on iCloud, including media), just check out WhatsApp Settings.”

The QR code can be seen when users go to their Setting menu and right beside their name and display picture, there will be a QR code functionality. Tapping on it will get your personal QR code which can then be shared with new friends so they can add you on WhatsApp. When you share your QR code, you will be sharing your phone number too.

If you think your QR code needs to be revoked, you can Reset QR Code which will remove access of the earlier code and generate a new one. You can perform this operation endlessly.
